**Magickal Timings**

What are magickal timings and how can they be helpful. Magickal timing is a way to choose when to do specific workings, rituals or spells. By choosing a time when the right energies are strong it makes our workings more efficient and effective. Timings are things like doing release work on the full moon. Energy workers, witches, shaman, and so many more use tools to make connecting and directing specific energies easier. And because it is easier, the energy work takes less work and personal energy to accomplish. Many people cleanse on the full moon. Why? Because the energies of release and cleansing are more prevalent on that day. The moon is another tool in our arsenal. Moon, stars, planets, crystals, herbs and so many other things have energies all their own. When these tools are available to us why wouldn’t we use them when we can. Can releasing and cleansing be done any day? Absolutely. However, doing so on the full moon will allow you to tap into the energy freely available and so be more effective in doing so. But don’t take my or anyone’s word on this. Test for yourself, try the timings out. See how they feel. Another benefit of using magickal timing is that it helps you become more aware of the natural cycles. And the more aware of the natural cycles you are the more connected to nature you become.

Nights of the Moon Cycle

It is important to note that our moon cycle is not exactly 28 nights as some believe, there are 29 to 30. If you check out a moon app or watch them moon nightly for yourself you will see this. The moons rotation around earth compared to the orbit of the earth around the sun shifts depending on how close the moon is to the earth and how close the earth is to the sun. Gravity :just another form of energy: causes these little shifts and if we are aware of them we can work with them.

During my training I was encouraged to note the moons shape and what I felt every night for a year and a day. So I learned this truth for myself. Now I use a moon app and confirm what it says every once and a while with my own observations. I am so thankful we live in an age that this is possible. I still encourage anyone who asks me how to become better connected with the moon phases and it’s uses to do the year and a day tracking. The insight you gain is invaluable, and during it you might just discover your power phase.

Full or Bright moon to Glimmer moon (day before third quarter)

Day 1 ) Fullest moon, True Full moon, Full moon day 2 or Bright moon

– Reflection and release. Cleansing and re energizing

-Freezer jar spells, Smoke cleanses, Divination on self

Day 2) Full moon Day 3, Dimming moon

-Letting go, breaking addiction, Removing unwanted things,

Day 3) Waning Gibbous moon

– Healing, releasing pain both physical and emotional. Purging that which does not serve you

-healing spells especially those using water, turn back or return to sender spells

Day 4+5) Shrinking moon

-Small releases, rest and sleep, self understanding

-Dream work and spells, inner truth spells and astral workings

Day 6+7) Glimmer moon

-Understanding of others, peace, and safety

-Doing divination for others or about others affect on you, protection spells

Third Quarter moon to New moon day 1

Day Third quarter moon, Shrinking mirror moon, half moon

-Balance of emotion and energies, balance of life priorities

-Spells for cooperation, rituals to bring balance or find balance, hex craft for beneficial purpose example a hex to make cigarettes taste horrible and the taste to linger to help someone quit smoking.

Day 9) Whisper Moon

-Seeing within, finding hidden truth, revealing what is hidden

-lost item spells, truth coming to light spells, justice work. Hexcraft to force secrets into the open

Day 10+11) Sliver Moon

-overcoming fears.

-spells for identification and cause of fear. Fear and dream hexcraft, spells for growing past fear

Day 12) Clouded moon

-Rest, sleep and fertility

-pregnancy and fertility magick, calming works for sleep and rest, hexcraft using dreamscaping

Day 13) Shadow moon

-Exploring mysteries, understanding the previously unknown, exploring the darkness within

-shadow work, Spells and work for deeper understanding,

Day 14) New moon day 1

-Ending connections with unwanted or unneeded things, breaking away from toxic habits, people and energies

-Cord cutting, freezer spells, making of banishing talisman or spell crafts, Hexcraft like hotfoot powder

New moon to Growing Crescent moon ( day before first quarter)

Day 15) New moon, New moon day 2, Dark moon

-Endings and new beginnings, start new projects, divination, blandishments

-Setting intentions, regrowth spells and rituals, banishing and closing of portals and connections

-Planting and growing, cutting connections and pruning, protections, blessings

Day 20) Crescent moon

-intentions, Restoration

-Setting intentions, goal planning and willpower magicks, renewal and restoration magick. Healing magicks. Willpower hexcraft

Day 21) Growing Crescent moon

-Finance, wealth, bounty

– money and finance spells and hexcraft, blessings and charm making

First quarter to Full moon day 1

Day 22) third Quarter, Growing Mirror moon

-Balance of physical concerns. Physical manifestation

-manifestations, hormone and the physical body spells. Health hexcraft

Day 23) Full crescent moon

-discovery, Pathways, choice, decisions

-Divination to find pathways and directions or choices, confusion hexcraft,

Day 24) Sparkling moon

-Hope, ideas

-connections, platonic love, fertility, new life
