Habit and/or Behaviour Breaking Knot Spell

**Habit and/or Behaviour Breaking Knot Spell**

Knot spells and cord spells have been around for a very long time. From the act of tying a red string on your pointer finger to remind you to do something important, to tying hands together for a hand-fasting. These kinds of spells are usually easy to do and require few components.

What you will need

2 lengths of natural cord like cotton or yarn about 6” long

A candle use a colour that corresponds to your habit or behaviour. Black is good for any breaking.

A fire proof place to safely burn your cord when done.

Steps

1. Cast your circle or protective space as desired.

2. Hold both cords in your sending hand by one end and let the other end dangle towards the earth. For most people this hand you write with.

3. With your other hand run your hand from the top to the bottom of the cord stating your intentions three times. Example “I am breaking my tie to eating my emotions”

4. Place one cord off to the side.

5. With the other cord. Think about a time when you did this behaviour or habit. Tie a knot in the cord. Think about how it made your or others feel. Think about why you want to stop this.

6. Repeat over and over until the cord can not be knotted any more. You want to do it at least 3 times.

7. Place the cord in you fire safe spot.

8. Light the candle focusing on the cleansing aspects of fire.

9. Light the cord. It may take lighting several times to get the cord to burn up. As it burns focus on the connection you have to the habit being burnt away.

10. Use the ash to mark the inside of each of your wrists. The rest of the ash needs to be scattered to the wind.

11. Take the cord you set aside and keep that with you. Each time you do the habit you are breaking. Knot the cord.

12. When this cord is fully knotted burn and scatter the ashes.

Some habits can be broken by doing this once. Others may take a little more work. I recommend doing shadow work on the “why do I do this behaviour?”
