**Beginner’s Tips – Solar and Lunar Hours**
Solar hours are from sunrise to sunset, and Lunar hours are from moonrise to moon set. They often overlap unless and sometimes do so drastically. There are 6 of each, that are equal portions of those times. To find them you take the time between rise and set and divide it by six. That is how long each hour is. Here are a couple examples:
Solar hours Sunrise 7:08am
So that is 13 hours and 36 minutes, divide by 6 = 2 hours and 16 minutes.
Solar hour 1 is 7:08am to 9:24am. Solar hour two in this example 9:25am to 11:41 am. And so on
Lunar hours Moonrise 3:29pm
Moonset is 6:28am.
So that is 15 hours and 9 minutes. Divided by 6 = 2hours and 31.5 minutes. I round up to 32 minutes. Lunar hour 1 would be 3:29pm to 6:01pm.
Lunar hour 2 would be 6:02pm to 8:34pm and so forth
