**Exploring Personal Correspondences in Magick: Unleashing Your Unique Power**

Correspondences play a vital role in the magick , connecting various items or energies through symbolic associations. However, the abundance of conflicting information on correspondences can be overwhelming, especially for new brooms embarking on their magickal journey. In this article, we’ll delve into the concept of personal correspondences and how you can create your own tailored lists for more powerful and effective magick.

Understanding Personal Correspondences:

To comprehend personal correspondences, we first need to grasp the essence of correspondences themselves. Correspondences are bindings that link two or more things, allowing the energy of one to influence another. Examples of correspondences widely used in magick include crystals, symbols, magickal tools, colors, and timings. A personal correspondence, on the other hand, is an association that deeply resonates with and works for you.

Embracing Your Unique Associations:

When crafting your personal correspondences, it’s crucial to connect with the meanings that make sense to you. Let’s take the example of healing. While commonly suggested correspondences for healing might point to using the colours blue and white, my personal power colors, like purple, gold, and silver, evoke a stronger connection within me. By choosing correspondences that align with your beliefs and resonate with your energy, the effectiveness of your magickal work significantly amplifies. You are able to focus all your attention and intention on the desired outcome, thus enhancing your ability to draw in and direct specific energies.

The Power of Belief in Magick:

The strength of personal correspondences lies in belief. When you truly believe or have faith in a correspondence, the energy of that belief enhances its effect. This phenomenon can be scientifically observed through the placebo effect in medical studies. By infusing your magick with personal correspondences that hold meaning for you, you tap into the power of your beliefs, invigorating your rituals and spells.

Creating Your Own Personal Correspondences List:

To begin building your personal correspondences list, it’s advisable to start with colors. Here’s a simple method to help you get started:

List Method

1)Select a color and give it a name that resonates with you. Many people can look at the same colour and in their mind different colour names will be used. I might call a specific red burgundy, where my friend will look at the same colour and call it wine red, and my fiance will call it dark red. Write that colour name at the top of your page.

2)Jot down anything that comes to mind, feelings, memories, or associations triggered by that color. So for burgundy I might write luxury, wine, pomegranate, commitment, velvet drapes, Dionysus.

3)For each association, briefly note why you connect it with the chosen colour. So for pomegranate I would note, colour, vampire movies, the Underworld, Persephone. For luxury I would list wine, velvet, richness. And so forth

4)Remove any duplicate associations by consolidating similar ideas. So for my examples wine, velvet drapes and richness all would fall under Luxury.

5)Reflect on each association and determine if it feels true and aligned with your beliefs.

5)Circle the associations you resonate with the most strongly.

6)Combine the original color and the circled associations to form your personal correspondences list.

Testing Method

An alternative approach involves starting with existing correspondences from external sources. If you prefer this method, consider using physical representations of the correspondences:

1)Review the list of correspondences and select one to explore.

2)Hold or touch the physical representation associated with the chosen correspondence.

3)Ask yourself whether you can sense the energy linked to this correspondence and if any associations feel incomplete or misaligned. You can use the following questions to help with that

a) Can I feel any of the energies that the list associated with this item

b) Does any of the associations feel wrong or incomplete. If so can I figure out why? Does this item mean something to me that is totally different than what is on the list? Or do I just know it does not mean what they say it does?

1) Identify what on the list resonates with you.

2) Employ a form of divination, such as a pendulum, to affirm your intuitive response. This step helps confirm the harmony between your personal connection and the chosen correspondence.

Experimenting and Refining:

After identifying your personal correspondences, it’s important to test them in practice. Incorporate them into simple spells or meditations and evaluate their efficacy. Keep in mind that magick is a science, allowing you to safely experiment and refine your correspondences as needed. Your magickal path is unique, shaped by your history and experiences. What works for others may not work for you, and vice versa. By embracing personal correspondences that resonate deeply, you unlock the potential to harmonize your energies and direct them precisely where you desire, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of your magick.

In the vast realm of magick and correspondences, personal connections hold immense power. By embracing your personal correspondences, carefully built on your beliefs and experiences, you unlock your own unique magickal potential. Let go of the confusion generated by conflicting lists found online or in books and embark on a journey fueled by personal resonance and belief. As you tune into your own correspondences, watch your magickal workings become more potent, focused, and aligned with your true self. Remember, the key lies within you – trust your intuition and create a magickal practice that is truly your own.
