Meet Our Team

Amie Clark

Founder & Chief Operating Witch (COW), Past President

I’m Amie — Witch of Shamie’s Suitcase and the Founder & Chief Operating Witch of the Alberta Witches Association.

My path is shaped by lineage, land, and lived experience. My witchcraft carries the echoes of my grandmothers and the quiet magic passed through hands, kitchens, gardens, and stories. I come from Slavic roots, alongside English and Scottish ancestry, and I honour that woven inheritance fully. I don’t need my roots to be tidy to know they are real.

My practice is eclectic, grounded, and deeply relational. I walk between worlds as a hedge-crossing witch, guided by spirit, my ancestors, and the elements of the land and seasons. I care about magic that is lived, not performed — magic that supports real people in real bodies, through grief, joy, shadow, and change.

I founded the Alberta Witches Association because I believe in community that is spacious, ethical, and rooted in care. AWA exists to create safer containers for witches to learn, gather, and remember who they are — without gatekeeping, hierarchy for ego’s sake, or forced conformity.

At the heart of everything I do is this: I care. About this community. About our stories. About the witches who came before us, and those still finding their way home.

Tara Mannion

President

Hello! My name is Tara Mannion. I am your president for 2026. On top of being a witch, I am a wife and mom. I have 2 beautiful daughters and an amazing husband.

I am very eclectic in my practice, and still learning as I go, like we all are. I mainly have been working with Dragons, Hekate, Hermes, Bast, and Skadi. I am always researching and am pulled very much so to spirit animal allies recently.

I felt the call to take on a new challenge, so here I am learning to take on the role of your president. I am excited to learn and be here for our community. Merry meet, blessed be, and let’s make our community amazing!

Under the Protection of Anpu and the Universal Energy

Leader Guide of the SilverSun Tradition

Owner Operator of Midnytesun Guidance & Pagan Pyrography

Beginner Witch 101 teacher

Midnyte started her way  on the Twisted Path when she was 8 years old. Taken underwing by her bestfriend’s Kookum. Being Cree, a deep respect and connection to the Earth and the Ancestors was the base of that teaching. From there she was blessed with finding many different teachers from many different paths. The 3 decade journey with all its twists and pitfalls has given her a drive to share knowledge and help others in ways she wishes she had help.  As a domestic abuse and cancer survivor;she has learned the deepest darkest parts of herself and has a passion for social justice. Being autistic, demisexual, having chronic pain and a chronic illness have all given her a unique view of things.

Mother of two wonderful transmasculine kiddos, one giant lap dog, two sassy cats, fish and so many plants. Midnyte keeps herself busy with many crafts, witchwork, and hearthcraft. She is proud to craft energy work techniques, divination methods and ways to bring magick into their daily lives. And is happily branching out as a magic educator.

If you’re ever out somewhere, and you seem something weird out of the corner of your eye, that’s probably just me.
I am and have always been, a creature of many aspects. I have lived in many places, and moved more times than I would like to count, and have had thee variety of jobs/careers/etc, but like so many, I am an avid learner of all the fascinating things to me. My latest venture is Herbalist and Medicine Mushrooms with some fascinating teachers (who doesn’t want to learn from people Literally named after plants), but if you don’t see me carrying around at least 3 books, did you even look.
I have a very old, and crunchy familiar, who has only the eyes for me, which of course means all the pet demands as well. (cat’s, who’s going to tell them they aren’t in charge)
I can be found in the wild, knitting something I’m sure is confusing me or my nose shoved into a book spine, throwing the click-clack goblin dice or a game with more story than sense.
If I approach, I’m most likely looking to give a helping hand, but Don’t Blink.

Tshanna Lenz

Treasurer

Blessed Be fellow Witches.

My name is Tshanna, and I am proud to be the Treasurer for the Alberta Witches Association. My predecessor was affectionately dubbed the “bean counter,” although I await my formal nickname!

I was adopted at the age of 7 and raised in a Conservative and Christian home, but I always knew that religion was not for me. In my early adulthood, I found witchcraft, Liberalism, feminism, and addiction… I am now officially 10 years substance clean! I have been married twice; once that blessed me with my now teenage child, and a second that resulted in 4 more beautiful children. In 2020, I lost my mother and left my second marriage, and in 2021, I lost my youngest in a devastating house fire… that is when I found the A.W.A.

The A.W.A. not only supported my grief and loss, but brought me into the true and full version of myself. I met my current husband in 2021, and have been blessed to become the full time step-mother to his child. I carried and delivered a surrogate baby in 2023, and am currently on my second journey. I am a proud and active member and ally of the 2SLGBTQI+ community. I am an active advocate for Domestic Violence Victims in my volunteer work with Family Court, where I hold Coaching Certifications in Communications, Divorce, Relationships, Life and Matchmaking. I also hold a Certification in Death Doula services, which I offer free to any parents experiencing the loss of a child. After several chronic illness diagnoses came to light in 2024, I was finally able (forced?) to slow down a bit, and have since been blessed to be involved in the A.W.A. as the Treasurer.

I am a dark Witch. My personal practice does not follow any religious or structured path. I do not worship any gods or pantheons; I only believe in three things: Karma, the Earth and Myself. I am definitely eclectic, however I am selectively solitary, and draw inspiration from all sects of paganism, specifically kitchen witchery, green witchery, and herbalism. Baneful magic, balance and protection, cuttings, necromancy, divination, curses, hexes… that is where you can find me 🖤

Blessed Morrow,

Tshanna
