Adding Magick To Your Daily Life

**Adding Magick To Your Daily Life**

Hello Witches! There are only so many minutes in a day. And that is the thing right, you have to choose how to use those minutes. We have bills to pay, and lives to live. And that can make it hard to feel very witchy. When keeping track of work schedules, school schedules appointments and more it is easy to forget what moon phase we are in. And finding an uninterrupted hour to mediate or do a spell can be challenge.

You want to witch, you feel the need to witch, but life and all the tasks that go with it use up a lot of our minutes and hours. I mean a witch is SUPPOSE to do magick right? Or so we are told. And every time we can’t or we miss a specific date, it can cause us to doubt not only ourselves but the path we are on. I want you all to know A witch is a witch even when they can not actively do witchcraft. My goal is to show you some ways to add magick to your life using as few minutes or ingredients as possible.

We need to let go of the witch guilt that so many of us deal with. You know that I should be guilt, I am not doing enough guilt, and worst of all the “how can I call myself a witch when I” guilt. And we are going to start with a simple but effective type of magick. Mantras. A mantra is a thought or phrase we say to train our focus, brains and energies. The more we say it the more we can accept it, believe it and manifest it. I find that that doing mantras in front of a mirror making eye contact with myself is a lot harder, and a lot more effective in the long run. There is a proliferation of mantras out there or you can make your own. I statements I find are the best. Like I am or I can. Now lets give this a go Repeat after me.

I am doing enough

I am good enough

I am witch enough

I am ENOUGH.

One thing that myself and many others believe is very important is grounding, shielding and alignment of your energies. It protects you and your energy, and helps the day go smoother. For the longest time I struggled to do this. Mostly because the ways I was taught to do it take too long or have set up or clean up that I just don’t have the energy to do. Like going outside in bare feet to feel the earth and connect to it. Or mediation that takes 15 minutes of uninterrupted time. My sensory issues, chronic pain and well having a kiddo and pets made these things at times feel impossible or Stressful or even.

Plus to do each was more time I didn’t have. I would often have to pick grounding or shielding. Alignment or grounding.

So I started to try and combine methods, like the feet in earth method for grounding and alignment. This method requires you to take shoes and socks off and stand on the earth, connecting to it and letting you mind and body relax and energy flow. This isn’t always an option for me because well, snow for one thing, and we have a dog so bare feet is risky. Now a solution to that was to get a Rubbermaid bin filled with clean soil, that I could use inside. Sitting comfortably with my feet covered in the earth, for 15 minutes while I mediated did work for me. However; there was the clean up, dirt always ended up on the floor, and I would have to wash my feet after and that takes time and like many other great ideas. I kinda just stopped doing it.

And that is the problem isn’t it. If we can’t make it part of our routines, and simple to do. It is not going to happen on a regular basis. DO I still earth at times? sure, here and there.

I am going to share you something I do nearly every day, and sometimes refresh during the day. It’s quick, easy and does all three. The Dragon Tree.

This technique, grounds you, shields you, and aligns your energies in just under two minutes. You don’t’ need any tools, just you and your energy.if you can’t stand you can do this from a seated position as well. Here is a video of it https://www.tiktok.com/@midn…/video/7030867000289250566…

Adding Magick to our daily life is easiest when you add it into what you have to do anyways.

Like Cooking. You can choose herbs and seasonings to draw in specific energies. Like adding a pinch of salt to purify and add life energy. Or rosemary for protection. Cocoa for grounding.

Though sometimes we just don’t have the time or energy to figure out what herbs will work with your recipe and will bring in what you want. My suggestion is to stir it in. Actually I personally find stirring out some energy then stirring in some other energy works most effectively. Think about what you don’t need what doesn’t serve you. And focus on that while you stir your food or drink counterclockwise. This will banish that those energies. You can say it out loud as well. Then follow up by stirring clockwise and focusing on what you want to bring in. For example when I make my kiddos ice-tea this is what I say and do. “Stir away pain, stir away anxiety, stir away depression.” then “Stir in joy, stir in happiness, stir in contentment” You are stirring anyways so it doesn’t take extra time.

We all have housecleaning we have to do and that is another area that we can add a bit of magick. I am sure some of you have seen the memes with the robot vacuum with the smoke cleanse supplies on it. Kinda funny kinda cute and fits with what I am talking about. Though myself I would hesitate to let a lit anything wonder around my home unsupervised. However it shows we can modernize some practices. You can add Selanite and Tourmaline to your vacuum or broom. Thus cleansing and gathering up negative energies while you do use it. Or add a mixture to your floor wash to bring in what you need or want. Like a pinch of cinnamon for prosperity and passion. ( just a pinch mind you or floors can get gritty) Or a pinch of rosemary or a couple drops of mugwort oil for protection. Cleaning your mirrors? Use your finger to write a short intention like “every time someone looks in this mirror they will be reminded of their personal power” then clean like normal. You can place crystals, sigils, herb pouches in your clean laundry. Like placing tigers eye in your underwear drawer to add the energy of self confidence. A lot of these are what I like to call set it and benefit magicks. You do it once, and then the times you do manage to cleanse or recharge the energies of your space. These set magicks get their groove on again. Things like jewelry, clothing or even makeup can be set so every time you use them you benefit.

We have talked about the daily tasks of cooking and cleaning, but what about hygiene. Can we make that magick without taking up too many minutes? Absolutely! Lets say you tend to say unkind and unflattering things about yourself. Let’s be honest, most of the time we say things about ourselves we would never say to someone else. Well; every time you brush your teeth, focus on brushing unkind things from your mouth. Use what you are doing. Quickly scratch an intention into your bar of soap. Or a symbol of something you want to be attracted to you. If you have the time do a ritual shower with a salt scrub to cleanse negative energy off you while you clean your skin. No special salt scrub, ok use a little table salt.

Though my absolutely favourite way to day magick to my daily life is the use of sigils and symbols. Like on my outfits. When I wear my ritual over piece I have all the elements, my connection to Hekate and Anpu at my fingertips. I have embroideries sigils and symbols all over. My wood spoons and cutting boards have sigils burned into them and symbols to draw specific energies. Each room has sigils for protection and room specific sigils. Since my fiance and I own our home, I can do things like use silver paint to mark the sigils. Before that I rented. So I made blessed water and used that to make the sigil marks. Or you can draw them in the air with energy. Your hand position can even amplify and direct. Remember when you were taught not to point at others? Why was it considered rude? Because you might be directing bad energy or a curse or such at them. Energetically it also holds true, when you point 3 fingers point back at you.

This is the wand hand. Two fingers forward and touching. The other two make a loop with the thumb. The loops draws in and amplifies energy , the fingers direct it. So if I wanted to cast a sigil right here and now I would just position my hand, let the energy build then flow out the fingers and draw the sigil in the air.

Who knows what a sigil is?

I define a sigil as a collection of marks and symbols combined that focus and direct energy in a specific way. There are so many examples of sigils online, find ones that call to you or draw your attention. Print them off, copy them and try them out. See how they make you feel. Change them if you need to

I create sigils all the time. Again there are a lot of different methods that can be used for this. There is the circle or square intention method. The symbol arranged and mirrored method. Some like myself do meditative drawing.

Every day you put your effort, your intentions and your emotions into what you do. That is magick. When wash that dish, or make that food you are adding your energy into it. That’s why food made with love taste better. You are the cauldron and conduit of magick. So use what you already do and amplify it’s magick with your intention.

And Remember “YOU ARE ENOUGH”

  1. Great article! I love the idea of adding magick to our daily routines, even with limited time and energy. My question is, how do you suggest incorporating sigils into our daily lives? Do you have any specific examples or tips? Nice article! I really enjoyed reading about the different ways to incorporate magick into our daily lives, even when we have limited time and energy. One question I have is how to effectively use sigils in our routines. Do you have any specific suggestions or tips for incorporating sigils into our daily lives?

    1. Hello,I am so sorry it took so long to respond. I am the original author of the piece Midnyte. And I gave it to AWA to share and honestly forgot that I did lol.

Using sigils in our daily routine is amazing. First thing to do is either make or find a sigil that does something you want. For example one that helps you feel safe confident. You can use water and draw it on your hand. Then use that hand to wash your face.

Or purchase someone in your household needs healing or more energy. Draw the sigil in what you are cooking for them. You can use oil to draw them on anything including yourself. So draw a pain relief sigil on that sore knee before you rub in that pain cream. In my first aid kit I have a few healing sigils on small papers that I can add to wound bandages. I also have a mini book keychain that I have put lots of different sigils in so I have them with me as reference any time I am out and about.
you can draw sigils with your spoon in your coffee or tea. This is a subtle way of doing so incase you are not out of the broom closet.
